Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra (WSO)

Incorporated in 1947, the WSO has a rich history of providing exceptional musical experiences for all Manitobans.

Featuring a wide variety of events year-round, the WSO employs full time musicians, part time musicians, as well as administrative staff in areas such as artistic operations, finance, and marketing.

Orchestra musicians of the highest caliber are sought from across Manitoba, Canada, and North America. Part time musicians are usually drawn from a base of local Manitoba musicians. Special guest artists are secured from all over the world, from emerging musicians to famous, lifetime achieving artists.

A staff team supports WSO events with positions from event marketing, tech support, lighting, ticket taking, and more.

“The WSO has an intense work schedule for performances, so those who are looking for flexible work in creative venues, concerts, and events will find employment here very fulfilling,” says Neil Middleton, VP of Marketing & Sponsorship.

“We have a very positive work culture and quite a progressive artistic environment. At the end of the day when you are taking in an exceptional performance, the experience is a dramatically tangible reward that can only be obtained when you work in performing arts.”

Current positions are open in the orchestra. Entry-level positions in administration and event support are often available. Successful administration and technical support candidates will have a particular interest in classical music, but no classical music training is required.
