Manitoba Theatre for Young People

“Manitoba Theatre for Young People (MTYP) is one of the most respected professional theatre companies in Canada for young audiences,” says Debra Zoerb, MTYP’s general manager. “MTYP offers a collaborative [and] fun working environment where we all, regardless of our role, work together to create opportunities for young people to imagine, dream, and play.”

Created in 1982, MTYP creates and presents theatre productions for children and families, as well as operating a theatre school and Native Youth Theatre program for the approximate 1500 children who attend their classes, camps and workshops each year. While they are located at The Forks in Winnipeg, MTYP also tours extensively throughout Manitoba.

MTYP provides jobs in office administration, theatre production, facilities management, education, and artistic roles such as directing and programming, acting, stage management and more. Immediate seasonal needs include production and front-line administration in the box office and handling school registrations. Full-time permanent positions that may open in the future include admin and production, but also artistic and educational roles as well.

Job seekers looking at employment with MTYP should have position-related training and/or experience, as well as interest in the theatre and the arts.
