Manitoba Construction Sector Council (MCSC)
The Manitoba Construction Sector Council (MCSC) is committed to strengthening the skills of Manitoba’s construction sector workforce. The mandate of MCSC is to assist Manitoba’s construction sector by consulting industry stakeholders and offering solutions to their current and future human resource needs. The council’s primary goal is to upgrade skills throughout the industry. Efforts are also made to enhance the image of the industry and the benefits of working in the construction sector, with emphasis on attracting individuals from non-traditional groups.
Manitoba’s strong construction climate is creating a wealth of career opportunities. From plumbers to boilermakers, electricians to estimators, there are more than 20 recognized skilled trade occupations in the construction industry.
More than 45,000 Manitobans are employed in the construction sector representing 6% of the Manitoba Labour Force.
