The Creative industries in Manitoba provide outstanding entertainment for Manitoba residents and visitors. From the internationally recognized Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, to the Winnipeg Art Gallery and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. The Arts & Culture industries in Manitoba are rich in diversity and depth. They are also major contributors to employment and economic output of the province.
- 6.4% of the city’s labour force is employed in the arts and creative industries in the province. This represented approximately 26,600 people.
- Economic output from the arts and creative industries produces over $1 billion each year. This has expanded by 9.4% between 2009 and 2012 which indicates it is growing in step with the local economy.
