McCain Foods is a global organization that produces a variety of food products for the retail and restaurant industries. Best known in Canada for their potato products – fries, Smiles, and hashbrowns – McCain's products are found in any major supermarket freezer aisle.

In Manitoba, McCain operates two facilities: one in Portage la Prairie, and a second one in Carberry, each employ anywhere from 200-350 people. Both facilities take raw potatoes, grown locally in Manitoba, and turn them into a wide variety of popular food products. Each facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, offering 12 hour shifts to employees.

Headquartered in Florenceville, NB, McCain is a family-run organization that stays true to their family roots. A truly Canadian company, founded in 1957, McCain has grown over the last 60 years to now encompass over 50 manufacturing facilities worldwide, employing more than 20,000 people globally.

Jobs in production, packaging, and shipping are all required in the immediate future. In the long-term McCain forsees requirements for operators in all areas, lead hands, shift supervisors, and middle management in other McCain facilities globally.

McCain does all of their training in-house for operator positions. New employees are most successful when they have a basic understanding of computers, are mechanically inclined to use tools, and are willing to learn and ask questions.
